We are running out of time. COP26 in Glasgow is a crucial opportunity for activists to demand that world leaders take the radical action that our climate crisis requires. Voices from the front lines of climate change must be heard at this gathering of global decision-makers. Climate Emergency Fund and Climate 2025 are joining forces with Fridays For the Future, YOUNGO, and the COP26 Coalition to empower global climate justice activists to participate in COP26.

Your donation to Climate Emergency Fund (CEF) today will allow youth from most affected people and areas, and other climate justice activists to actively share their voices and knowledge.

Due to Covid-19, we know that fewer youth activists are going to be represented at COP26 than in previous years. We have an opportunity to change this by directly and safely enabling their participation, while also carefully following all public health and safety regulations

For activists able to travel to Glasgow, funds raised through this initiative will cover travel, accommodation, any quarantine requirements, visas, legal costs and any other necessary expenses. For activists unable to travel to Glasgow, we are supporting virtual meeting room rental, any domestic travel required to participate remotely, internet access for video conferencing and other related costs.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Help Activists Get to COP26

Over ninety individual youth activists hoping to attend COP26 have been given Blue Zone delegate badges by the United Nations due to their important work surrounding climate justice. However, they are struggling to attend the event due to the high costs associated with the journey.

For those traveling, the cost ranges from between $4,500 and $9,000, depending on the distance they have to travel, the different visas, quarantine requirements and the (increasingly expensive) accommodation.

For those joining virtually, the costs of secure and reliable internet access, internal travel and more can quickly add up as well.

Your Gift Supports the Future of the Climate Justice Movements

This work does not stop after COP26 closes. The learning and growth of activists who attend COP26 will help sup participation and engagement at COP27 and beyond. Your investment today will help ensure a bright future for the climate movement. Donors who support this campaign will be the first to learn about our plans as we gear up for COP27. Any funds raised in excess of the needs for COP26 will be used to support the activists participation at COP27. The more we can raise through this campaign the more activists we can engage in this critical effort now and in the future.

Activists from these movements and others will be supported:

  • Kenya Environmental Action Network
